TRANSPORTATION - Our #1 need!  Individual, door-through-door, escorted rides to and from your regular medical, dental, vision, lab, and vaccine appointments. NESA volunteers stay with the client. (Transpiration cannot be provided for any appointment where the client will be anesthetized.)

GROCERY SHOPPING - Volunteer shoppers get your grocery list and do the shopping for you, then deliver your groceries.

FOOD PANTRY DELIVERIES - We can make arrangements to pick up and deliver your food pantry orders.

TELEPHONE REASSURANCE - A volunteer can call you on a regular basis to offer support and socialization.

HANDY HELPER - Clients may request a "Handy Helper" to occasionally help with tasks such as hanging pictures, changing lightbulbs, or cleaning out a closet. (Limited to current transportation clients.)

FALL FEST - Every year in November, NESA hosts Fall Fest, a fun and lively socialization event Clients and volunteers have the opportunity to mingle while breaking bread and celebrating the holidays. NESA volunteers provide clients transportation to and from Fall Fest.

SENIOR SANTA DELIVERIES - In December, through community donations and support, NESA volunteers deliver gifts to clients who are low-income older adults. Sometimes, our gifts are the only ones they receive during the holidays. (Senior Santa is only available if NESA receives enough grants, funds, or donations to do so.)

RESOURCES & REFFERALS - If NESA can't help, we will refer you to someone who can.

Loteria - Bingo & Big Give SA

NESA'S Night of Loteria - Bingo and Big Give SA come together to raise funds for our programs. Join us Thursday, Sept 24, 4-6pm at Franklin Park Alamo Heights located at 230 W. Sunset Drive, San Antonio, TX 78209.

NESA Fall Fest

Our annual Fall Fest to pamper our clients, recognize our volunteers, and raise funds for the upcoming year will be Thursday, November 12, 10:30 am-1 pm at First Presbyterian Church located at 404 N. Alamo Street, San Antonio, TX 78205.

Sponsorships and vendor booth spaces are still available, including an opportunity to be a featured speaker. 

A Raffle, Silent Auction, Door Prizes, an Ugly Sweater Contest, a delicious Thanksgiving meal, and more are all a part of the Fall Fest fun! More info to come!

Target Circle Community Giving Program

Our thanks to Target for supporting NESA in 2026.      From April thru June, Target Circle members voted online and directed where funds would go to support nonprofits.                    We were one of the recipients.
